A Cirrus bass is out of most Indonesians price range so they have been sitting in boxes for quite a while. Quite a few Cirrus and Millennium basses available here that are new and have never been sold at retail. The worker pays monthly out of their check until the total is paid. The factory here auctioned off all of the inventory and included payment plans for their workers as well. They didn't pay for the last shipment they actually received and never paid for the basses that were already produced for them by the factory. If an instrument was made in Indonesia, it came from one of these two factories.Īs far as Peavey having the basses made in Indonesia, they really screwed the factory over. There is also another factory owned by Cort in Indonesia that makes Ibanez, MM Sterling, and Yamaha guitars and basses. Neck through products also have their own special line and only senior staff work on that line. I think that translates into better quality control since there isn't a lot of turnover. 15 of the original 16 mangers that were there when the factory opened in 1992 are still there. What stood out to me that the mangers and employees stay with the company and they don't have a high turnover rate. They are currently also making instruments for Squier, Epiphone, LTD, Gretsch, and PRS along with other brands for the Asian market. 11 buildings in total which includes the manufacturing lines for pianos, guitars, basses and mandolins.
