My OZ room is my home during storms. The Oklahoma Safe Rooms can be installed as a separate exterior room. As Dorothy from the Wizard of OZ would say, "There's no place like home." I am going to have electricity run into my OZ so I can have a small TV, radio, fan, etc. I am what is referred to as "elderly." I prefer "vintage." Follow-up from the company after installation was excellent. The entire process from the initial site visit to the installation itself was flawless. Contact OZ Saferooms for additional information. Yes, you can!!! The OZ Saferoom is unrivaled!!! My decision was easy. There was no comparison to the OZ Saferoom!!! Doesn't make me want to go underground with occupants like that!!! Besides the above listed dangers, snakes and all kinds of bugs make the cellar their home. Being trapped by debris, drowning due to broken water lines, and electrical shock from live wires were only a few of the long list of dangers. It was frightening to discover the dangers of cellars, underground storm shelters and steel storm shelters. In fact, I drive myself and my family a little crazy with the fact finding!!! People who know me will tell you I do my due diligence before any purchase, large or small. Families feel as though they are powerless to these unpredictable and inevitable storms. That is not true!!!īefore I purchased an OZ Saferoom I did hours of research. I have every intention of using them to install a shelter in the future as well.Įach year in Oklahoma and across the country the lives lost and the devastation caused by tornadoes is heartbreaking. I highly recommend them to fill in underground shelters. The entire crew was so polite and professional. No more smell and no more fear of damage. They finished the job very quickly and did a great job. They cut out the top and then filled it with cement. They were able to get out within just a couple of weeks. I got a call back really fast with a very reasonable quote. When I called OZ they were so nice and helpful. Some would only do it if I would turn around and install another one with them immediately. Most would give a list of reasons that it shouldn’t or couldn’t be done. I called many companies trying to get it filled in. I was afraid that it might collapse causing foundation damage or worse. It was rusting and the smell of mold was awful. I had a welder out who fixed many spots but within three months it was leaking again. I had a storm shelter underground in my garage.
